Jewelers: Win Platinum Points over the holidays

November 20, 2009

Neenah, Wis.--Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co. will be helping to spread holiday cheer this season with the Jewelers Mutual Platinum Points referral program.

The program awards points to jewelers for every new Personal Jewelry Insurance contact they refer to Jewelers Mutual via a specially designed Web page. Jewelers who rack up points can redeem them for gifts ranging from electronics and books to household items and travel.

"Platinum Points gives jewelers a way to motivate their staff without costing themselves a dime," Patrick Drummond, vice president of sales and marketing for Jewelers Mutual, said in a media release. "If they want to get in on the action, though, they'll want to enroll now, before the holiday selling season hits."

It's easy to enroll in the program, and to earn points, the insurance company says. Customers do not need to purchase insurance for points to be awarded. Upon enrolling, the retailer receives a unique code and customer cards that carry the code. The retailer will use the cards to refer customers to a specially designed Web site, JewelersMutualInfo.com. At that time, the customer will enter the jeweler code, thus listing the retailer as the referring jeweler. The program is simply intended to increase awareness about Jewelers Mutual and its Personal Jewelry Insurance product, the company said in the release.

Store managers or owners can keep points for themselves, or distribute them to staff members in case they want to run a sales contest or inspire exceptional customer service.

To learn more or to enroll, visit JMPlatinumPoints.com. Participation is limited to one unique code per store location. Due to state laws, Platinum Points are not available in California, Georgia, Kansas, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, New York and South Carolina.
