Leading Jewelers names first Affiliate Members

New York--Leading Jewelers of the World (LJW) has named six companies as the group's inaugural Affiliate Members.

The firms elected by the LJW board are: A. Jaffe, Fruchtman Marketing, GN Diamonds, Performance Concepts, VIP Diamonds and WR Cobb.

"Jon Mitchell, LJW's director of business development, and I could not be happier about the composition of this inaugural group of Affiliates," LJW Executive Director Michael Barlerin said in a media release. "Not only does each firm have an excellent reputation in its respective field, the six represent a wonderful cross-section of our industry."

The LJW Affiliate Membership initiative was first announced early this summer.  Criteria to be considered included the need to be nominated by a current LJW Honoree, adherence to LJW's Pledge of Integrity, Knowledge, Standards and Satisfaction, and approval by the LJW board of governors.

LJW is an association of independent retail jewelers who are granted exclusivity in their respective markets. Potential LJW Honorees must be nominated, meet specific criteria, meet training requirements and be approved by the LJW board of governors before they are designated as a LJW Honoree. The group's current annual sales volume is in excess of $150 million.
