Viewers pick De Beers bands for 'Today' show couple

Today show viewers chose this wedding band set by De Beers for the couple featured on this year's "Today Throws a Wedding."

New York--The votes are in and viewers of the Today show think De Beers wedding bands are best for the couple featured on the show's annual "Today Throws a Wedding" segment.

Each year, a couple gets married on-air during the popular NBC morning show.

The entire wedding is paid for, but the catch is viewers choose everything for the couple, from the gowns the bride and bridesmaids wear to the honeymoon destination.

This week, viewers had the chance to vote on a wedding band set for this year's bride and groom, Leigh and Nick of Ashland, Ohio.

Bands from David Yurman, Anna Hu, Martin Katz and De Beers all were in the running but, after tallying viewers' votes, the De Beers set came out on top.

According to the Today show Web site, the set features a platinum band for the groom with a single diamond inside, while the bride's ring, the "Darling," is 18-karat white gold with three rows of micro-pave diamonds totaling 1.2 carats.

This is the 10th year of Today Throws a Wedding.

Already selected for Leigh and Nick are a Christos wedding gown for her and bridesmaids' dresses from the Vineyard Collection, while viewers picked seersucker Tommy Hilfiger suits for the groomsmen.

Leigh and Nick are set to wed on the Today show plaza on July 15.
