China to host diamond conference

Shanghai, China--CBI China, together with the Guangdong International Diamond Commerce Chamber, will host a conference in October focusing on Asia's growing importance to the diamond industry, according to a news release.

Asia Diamond Focus 2009 is scheduled for Oct. 22 and 23 in Hong Kong with the theme, "Explore Asia and Join Forces to Win Together."

The conference, according to the release, aims to showcase Asia's latest diamond-market movement and development potential to diamond producers, traders, retailers and other relevant service providers from around the world.

As the only industry conference specializing in the emerging Asian diamond market to date, Asia Diamond Focus 2009 is based not only on the booming business in mainland China--where, according to statistics, diamond import and export volume is up 6.9 percent from last year, reaching $0.69 billion--but in the entire Asia-Pacific region.
