Venus Jewel offers Chinese version of grading book

Mumbai, India--Venus Jewel is launching a copy of its grading book in Chinese during the upcoming Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair to make it easier for customers in Hong Kong and China to understand the company's grading system.

According to a press release, Venus Jewel's grading system goes beyond the Four Cs, encompassing, among other things, 40 grades for color and 32 grades for clarity, as well as five grades for black inclusions and 11 grades for luster.

The Venus Jewel grading booklet also explains diamond price differentiation in a way that's easy to understand.

"Quality and transparency should be the main drivers of our business. Trust and satisfaction will automatically follow. It is not a coffee-table book but rather a comprehensive study of what goes in to grading a diamond," Anil D. Shah, partner at Venus Jewel, said in the release. "Consumers always assume purchasing a diamond is a difficult process; we are simplifying it for them. The booklet has been intentionally written in simple and lucid language, keeping the discerning as well as the first-timer in mind."

Mumbai, India-based manufacturer Venus Jewel is a Diamond Trading Co. sightholder and also sources rough from Rio Tinto, Harry Winston and BHP Billiton.

The Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair is scheduled for Sept. 21-25.
