JIS adds fifth day to October show

Miami Beach, Fla.--The Jewelers International Showcase (JIS) has announced that it will add a fifth day to its October show, expanding the event from a Friday-Monday pattern to Thursday-Monday.

The show will now be held Oct. 1-5, 2009 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Fla.

According to organizers, exhibitors and buyers have expressed overwhelming approval to the adjusted dates.

"What started as a solution to a scheduling conflict with the Jewish holiday of Sukkot has turned into a positive new idea that may be implemented at JIS' future October shows," tradeshow producer Michael Breslow said in a media release. "We never expected to have such a positive response to our questionnaires answered by hundreds of buyers and exhibitors alike in regards to adding Thursday to our October 2009 show."

The October show is the largest of JIS' three shows per year, with events also held in January and April.
