Couture 2009 to intro new VIP retail jewelers

New York--The Couture 2009 Show will open next Thursday, returning once again to the Wynn Las Vegas for six days of buying opportunities, plus a series of America's Best Jewelers workshops.

Show organizers said in a media release that the Couture Show will once again provide an intimate and luxurious environment for the industry's most recognized jewelry designers and brands.

And for 2009, the show has introduced a new VIP retailer program that seeks to recognize retail jewelers who have been collectively identified as demonstrating consistent support and commitment to the Couture event and its designers.

A total of 400 VIP retailers are already confirmed for Couture 2009, and organizers say the program is an ideal launch pad for retailers to enter the highly coveted Couture Cornerstone Retailer program, representing the best of the best in the retail jewelry industry.

Retail stores accepted into either program must pass a carefully vetted process.

Among this year's educational sessions for Couture retailers are four breakfast workshops where jewelers designated by National Jeweler as "America's Best Jewelers" will share best practices in marketing and retail operations. Topics to be addressed include leveraging social-media networks to drive consumer traffic in-store, how to creatively manage existing inventory and how to run successful events.

The America's Best Jewelers Breakfast Workshops will take place from Friday, May 29, through Monday, June 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the Mouton 1 Ballroom. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Couture 2009 is open to all qualified jewelry retailers, and retailer badges from any Las Vegas Jewelry Market Week event will expedite admittance to the Couture Show.
