JA New York Special Delivery set to deliver

September 30, 2009

New York--According to organizers of the JA New York Special Delivery show, to be held from Oct. 25-27 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, an increase in consumer confidence, coupled with the show's format and timing, creates a perfect opportunity for jewelers to stock up for the holiday selling season.

This year's show, themed "Before Time Slips Away," will once again offer a cash-and-carry option, allowing more than 400 jewelry designers and manufacturers to close sales right on the show floor, and thousands of jewelry buyers to save money and time on shipping, and have the ability to sell what they purchased immediately.

The show will also showcase unique and exotic collections from around the world in the Brazil, Hong Kong, Italy and Thailand International Pavilions.

In addition, after a successful debut at this year's JA New York Summer Show, the designLAB will be offered. The designLAB is a cooperative pavilion that features a select group of exhibitors showcasing their hottest jewelry designs in an open, social environment. The designers work together to test, experiment and evaluate new designs as well as network with top retailers and media to highlight their best pieces.

"Special Delivery 2009 has a lot to offer both exhibitors and attendees, from the variety of merchandise at the show, to the great timing for sales, the always popular International Pavilions and now the much anticipated return of the designLAB," JA New York Show Director Drew Lawsky said in a media release.

According to show organizers, attending jewelers are expressing a ready-to-buy attitude to stock their shelves with fresh merchandise before the holidays.

Nancy Carbonetti, vice president of Stephens Jewelers, said she comes to the Special Delivery show because it gives her the chance to see the most current trends just before the holiday selling season and to learn what people are looking for.

"At this year's show, I'm looking to stock up on the next 'hot' trend or item," Carbonetti said in the release. "I'm always looking for something different, and the Special Delivery show has that."
