Lee Arevian returns to lead Couture

June 30, 2009

New York--The Nielsen Jewelry Group has announced the return of Lee Arevian as show director for the Couture group of events.

A mainstay member of the Couture community, Arevian came to the Nielsen Jewelry Group in 2006 and was instrumental in establishing key changes to the show model that have made Couture the destination for high-end design during Las Vegas Market Week.

Arevian's goal for the next year will be to focus on ensuring a signature 15th anniversary event for Couture 2010.

"During my time at Couture, I was proud of being a part of the continuing evolution to make Couture the true destination for high-end design," Arevian said in a media release. "I'm honored and excited to be back working with this incredible group of people and ready to work on winning market share and mind share for this great brand. The 15th anniversary is an exciting milestone for this group and serves as a great benchmark for all that we've accomplished and all that we have yet to accomplish."

Chris Casey, formerly publisher of National Jeweler and the new group vice president of the Nielsen Jewelry Group, was quick to identify Arevian as the key player who would bring the Couture show to its next level.

"I have worked with Lee for some time, and I know how committed he is to the members of the Couture community," Casey said in the release. "His return will be a seamless transition and will allow us to effectively address both exhibitors' and retailers' needs while playing a pivotal role in maintaining Couture at its peak level and guiding the show as it evolves to maintain pace with this changing industry."

In addition to Arevian, the Couture team includes Lars Parker-Myers, Tracy Feinsilver, Maria Palombini, Jan Mohr, Alex and Mauro Arati, Caitlin Hume and Cindy Edelstein.

Couture 2010, the 15th anniversary celebration, will take place from June 2-7 at the Wynn Las Vegas.
