New York-- Jewelers for Children (JFC) will hold its 11th Annual Facets of Hope celebration on May 31 in Las Vegas and, that same day, will celebrate the first JFC Children's Day.

According to a press release, the festivities will begin with a cocktail reception for Facets of Hope at 6:15 p.m. in the Palazzo Ballroom, located on the fifth floor of the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino. Dinner and the program are scheduled to begin at 7:45 p.m.

"JFC Children's Day will be a celebration of all that the jewelry industry has done to help children in need, and celebrating on the same day as our premier fundraising activity, the Facets of Hope event, will provide the ideal opportunity for everyone to join in," Howard Sherwood, JFC's chairman of the board, said in a release.

During Facets of Hope, honorees from the past 10 years will be recognized for their work on behalf of JFC, including Marvin Beasley of Helzberg Diamonds, Lee Berg of Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry, Ed Bridge of Ben Bridge Jeweler, Allen Brill of Rolex Watch USA, Terry Burman of Sterling Jewelers,Peter Engel of Fred Meyer Jewlers, Susan Jacques of Borsheims, Mark Light of Stering Jewelers, Matthew Runci of Jewelers of America, Sherwood of Daniel's Jewelers, Susan Jacques of Borsheims and Sybil and David Yurman of David Yurman.

For Children's Day, JFC's charity partners will show how support from the jewelry industry has made a difference in the lives of children in need, and have agreed to help generate publicity for Children's Day nationwide.

As part of this, JFC is making materials, such as templates for local press releases, media alerts and customers notifications, available so jewelers everywhere can publicize Children's Day, according to the release.

Anyone interested in celebrating or in sponsorship can contact JFC at (212) 687-2949 or e-mail info@jewelersforchildren.org.

Details and presentation forms are available on the JFC Web site, JewelersForChildren.org.

Founded in 1999 by the U.S. jewelry industry, JFC has donated more than $30 million to programs benefiting children whose lives have been affected by illness, abuse or neglect through charity partners including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Autism Speaks, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and the National CASA Association.
