New York--The intellectual property of fallen retailer Fortunoff Fine Jewelry and Silverware LLC will be auctioned off on June 18 in New York, according to the company's Web site.

The auction will include more than 3,000 proprietary jewelry designs from five different collections, including the Petra collection and Avignon branded Swiss watches.

Other intellectual property slated for auction includes more than 70 registered trademarks such as Fortunoff, The Source, Prime Time, Oxford Hall and FSS; a customer database of more than 750,000 names, many with detailed purchase information history in jewelry, home furnishings and bridal registries and various IT assets, including the Fortunoff.com Web site, complete with copyrighted design layout and source code, according to the Web site.

The auction will be held in the New York offices of Fortunoff's law firm, Sidley Austin LLP.

Founded in 1922 by Max and Clara Fortunoff, Fortunoff was a well-known name in the Northeast for jewelry, home goods and furniture that, at its peak, included a chain of 20 stores in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

The chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and began store-closing sales in February.

La Jolla, Calif.-based Consor Intellectual Asset Management will be handling the intellectual property auction.
