Alliance for Smiles honors W.A.C. Lighting's Wang

San Francisco—Tai Wang, co-principal of the Garden City, N.Y.-based W.A.C. Lighting, a leading manufacturer and designer of lighting, and a supplier to the jewelry industry, has been honored for her philanthropic efforts and dedicated service to Alliance for Smiles.

Wang is being honored as a contributing founder to the San Francisco-based organization that provides reconstructive surgery and other healthcare services to underprivileged children suffering from cleft lip and palate anomalies.

Since its founding in 2004, Alliance for Smiles has organized and sent medical teams to China to help nearly 450 children.

"Tai is a fantastic person with a very strong commitment to helping children in need," Alliance for Smiles President and Chief Executive Officer Anita Stangl said in a statement. "We are delighted to honor Tai this year as a dynamic force for our organization. She has served as an adept translator, liaison, administrator and fund developer on several medical missions to China. Tai has been a great ambassador to local families and medical teams in China and has helped build bridges of friendship among people to create international understanding and goodwill."
