JBT redesigns site, adds two services

New York—The Jewelers Board of Trade (JBT) will be launching an enhanced version of its members-only Web site on Friday, Sept. 26.

To access the new site, members will need their JBT member number, password, security code and login instructions.

According to the JBT, a letter was mailed to the principal of each member's company last week with detailed instructions on how to access the new site. The letter also contains the security code required for log in.

The JBT says it's important to note that the first person from each member company to log in to the new site will automatically be designated as the administrator for his or her company. This person will be the only one from the company with the authority to add or delete other site users, or change information.

Site users can place claims and order credit reports, mailing lists, Red Books, and CDs, among other things.

The JBT site will also offer two new services: JBT Credit Watch and JBT Advanced Search.

JBT Credit Watch informs members of important changes to their customers' credit situations. Members select the accounts they're interested in, and the JBT will send them an e-mail message on key changes in credit-related information. JBT Credit Watch is free to Interchange Members and available to all non-Interchange Members for an annual subscription fee of $100.

With JBT Advanced Search, all JBT members will now have online access to the JBT's database of more than 30,000 business listings, free-of-charge. JBT Advanced Search adds search capabilities by criteria such as principal name, title, location and business classification.

For more information, contact the JBT at (401) 467-0055 and ask to speak with a member of the JBT On-Line Access Team.
