Denver—Hyde Park Jewelers announced today the retirement of co-founder and CEO Steven Rosdal, as well as the appointments of co-founder Michael Pollak to CEO and Shereen Pollak to president.

Rosdal will now assume the role of chairman emeritus. He will continue to be involved in Hyde Park's philanthropies and sponsorships as an active member of Hyde Park's Diamonds in the Rough Foundation. In addition, Rosdal will consult with former and new clients as director of Hyde Park's private client group.

"I have been very fortunate over the last 33 years," Rosdal said. "I have had a number of great opportunities: co-founding and building Hyde Park and partnering with Michael and Shereen Pollak being two of the most memorable and rewarding. Now I look forward to my next great opportunity—retirement."

Rosdal founded the Turquoise Trading Co. in 1973, and in 1974, invited Michael Pollak, former Turquoise Trading Co. customer, to join him in the company. Rosdal and Pollak began their careers selling turquoise to specialty stores such as Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue from coast to coast and in eight European countries. The two then converted their assets from Turquoise Trading to Hyde Park in 1976.

Without any industry experience or credit history, the partners were unknown in the field on fine jewelry. Today, Hyde Park, headquartered in Denver and with locations in Phoenix and Las Vegas, celebrates 30 years as one of the top independent jewelers in the nation. The company has been named "Top Jewelry Store in Denver" in 5280's "Top of the Town" edition three times in recent years.
