24 Karat Club names 'Excellence in Service' winners

Beverly Hills, Calif.—The Jewelers 24 Karat Club of Southern California has announced that Kathryn Kimmel of the Gemological Institute of America and James "Jimmy" West of Leading Jewelers Guild will share the organization's highest honor, the 2007 Excellence in Service Award.

The award is reserved for those the club feels have made a considerable contribution to the industry, elevating consumer respect and good business practices. It will be presented at the club's annual black-tie Fall Dinner Dance on Oct. 20 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Companies interested in showcasing their products to industry leaders while making a charitable donation to a worthy cause are encouraged to donate items by contacting the event's auction chair, Vatche Fronjian of True Knots, at (818) 534-3470, fax (818) 534-3477, vatche@trueknots.com.

Charities to benefit from past events have included City of Hope, the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, the Jewelers Fund for Children and the Salvation Army.

Those wishing to attend should contact the 24 Karat Club office for tickets as soon as possible. Dues-paying members may reserve two tickets; non-members will be charged $395 per person.
