Bulgari's 1Q profit up, confirms 2007 forecast

Bulgari on Tuesday reported a net profit rise of 31.5 percent on higher sales in jewelry and watches for the first quarter. The launch of a new line of watches contributed to sales growth, which exceeded expectations and forecasts.

Net profit for the first quarter was $32.37 million. Based on these reports, Bulgari Chief Executive Francisco Trapani said the company will decide whether to increase forecasted sales and net profit figures in September.
