Luxury jewelry show to launch in Dubai

The five-star Madinat Jumeirah will be the site of the new Salon Prive Haute Joaillerie Dubai show.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates--Dubai, the crossroads for an ever-growing luxury goods market, will play host to a new, by-invitation-only jewelry show set to debut next year.

The "Salon Prive Haute Joaillerie Dubai" is intended to offer the world's elite jewelers and luxury timepiece manufacturers introductions to new retail business opportunities in both cash-rich and emerging international markets, organizers said in a media release.

The event is a joint venture between two veteran luxury-marketing organizations, New York-based The Nancy Robey Partnership, whose namesake created the first-ever Couture show, and events and publishing company Turret Middle East, based in Abu Dhabi.

The three-day show will take place from Oct. 18-22, 2009, at the five-star Madinat Jumeirah.

Exhibitors will be limited to 82 designers, as well as select high-end non-jewelry sponsors. In addition, approximately 130 international luxury retail companies will be invited and hosted during the duration of the show.

In addition to buying opportunities, the show will also include a conference program, which is being planned in association with The Luxury Marketing Council Middle East.
