WJA to host intellectual-property seminar

New York—An intellectual-property lawyer will offer insight on copyrights, patents and trademarks to industry members during a lecture on Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. at Alfredo's of Rome restaurant in New York City.

Part of the Women's Jewelry Association Metro Chapter's Chew, Chat N Chill series, attorney Peter L. Berger will present "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Intellectual Property Law but Were Too Afraid to Ask."

Berger has represented jewelry clients in intellectual-property cases involving copyrights, patents and trademarks for more than 30 years.

Berger graduated from City College of New York in 1961 with a degree in electrical engineering and received his law degree with honors from George Washington University in 1966. Upon graduation, Berger served as a patent examiner in the computers division of the United States Patent and Trademark Office from 1963-1966, and then was a patent attorney for Bell Telephone Laboratories from 1966-1968, after which he entered private practice.

The event costs $60 for members and $70 for nonmembers, and will include a cash bar.
