Bangkok fair to reveal Signity's 'Gem Visions'

Bangkok—In addition to all the buying opportunities available at the upcoming Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair, to be held in Thailand early next week, attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in the show's conference aspect and participate in hands-on sessions on design trends, gem treatments, consumer confidence and more.

Among the highlights of the conference will be a vividly illustrated jewelry trend presentation by Birgit Riecder, Swarovski's head of gem creative, synthetics and gemstones.

Riecder will present the latest trends compiled in Signity's fifth annual Gem Visions report, which is researched by trend and jewelry experts. (Signity falls under the Swarovski Group umbrella.)

Each trend will be brought to life through fashion shows featuring creations inspired by the design themes.

Additional themes at the conference will include gemstone laboratories and their relation to consumer confidence, understanding jewelry-making and how that can help a jeweler's business, confident ruby and sapphire buying, and the principles of corundum heat treatment.

The fair and conference will be held in conjunction from Sept. 18-22.
