New reasons to shop the Atlanta Jewelry Show

Atlanta—The Southern Jewelry Travelers Association (SJTA) has announced two highlights of the upcoming Atlanta Jewelry Show: a newly improved and streamlined buyer-rewards program, and a unique exhibit of Brazilian jewelry.

The SJTA Rewards program was first introduced during the February 2007 Atlanta Jewelry Show, where retailers were given the chance to earn points by placing orders with exhibitors who chose to participate in the program.

For the upcoming show, taking place from Aug. 11-13 at the Cobb Galleria Centre, the program has been improved so that buyers need only present copies of orders they've placed during the show to the SJTA Redemption Desk, where SJTA will reward points directly to each buyer's reward account.

"Retailers no longer have to deal with coupons or spend extra time seeking out select exhibitors who are participating in the rewards program," SJTA Executive Director Carol Young said in a media release.

Rewards include airline tickets, travel packages, car rentals and accommodations; a full media collection, featuring books, DVDs and music; and a wide variety of merchandise, ranging from state-of-the-art electronics to sporting goods.

Another highlight of the Atlanta Jewelry Show is an exhibit of Brazilian jewelry, which will be brought to Atlanta through a partnership between SJTA and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

The collection, currently owned by the GIA Museum, is composed of a selection of signature pieces, which have been donated to the GIA by award-winning designers and top manufacturers from Brazil.

The exhibit will be featured in the GIA's "Collection Booth."
