World Jewelry Center gains momentum

Las Vegas—The World Jewelry Center (WJC) has now signed 60 companies to Letters of Intent, a jump of 50 percent in the last five weeks.

The international jewelry hub, which officially kicked off its drive to attract businesses with 10 participants last October, reached 41 companies in February and has recently bulked up, as Managing Director Bill Boyajian circles the globe to talk up the project. His efforts have been supported by a comprehensive marketing, advertising and publicity campaign for the center.

"Our recent trips to Istanbul, New York and Hong Kong were just the latest that revealed the strong interest the World Jewelry Center has generated throughout the trade," Boyajian said in a statement. "We have not only received uniformly enthusiastic responses to our presentations, but also consistent growth in the companies who are joining."

The 60 companies on board at this point account for 164,000 square feet of building space in the WJC trade tower. Boyajian says the project is ahead of schedule in terms of milestones set for whole-ownership office condominiums. With a major presence at upcoming shows in Basel, Switzerland; Vicenza, Italy; and Las Vegas, he's confident the trend will continue.

"We will also be present at the AGS Conclave in Denver, the ICA Congress in Dubai, and make presentations in Mumbai, Bangkok and Moscow. We invite business leaders throughout the industry to make an appointment for a personal presentation as we travel to their part of the globe, or to contact us for a Webcast presentation at a time of their convenience," he added.

The latest firms to sign letters include: Betlach, Canadian Gem, Caretta Inc., Cora International LLC, David Tishbi Handcrafted Jewelry, Exclusive Gems, Gemological Institute for Precious Stones, Global-findings.com Group Ltd., Gold and Diamond Inc., Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co., Liberty I. Exchange, M.J. Christensen, Mason-Kay, NK Supply, Oro Diamante, R.H. and Co., Silver Star Jewelry, Steven L. Miller Professional Law Corp. and Susan Eisen Fine Jewelry and Watches.
