Washington, D.C.—Traffic to Shop.org's shopping Web site Cybermonday.com was so substantial for the 2006 holiday season that the company has increased its capacity this year and added new features to help consumers find the best holiday deals on the Internet.

Cybermonday.com launched in November 2006 as a one-stop shop for consumers looking for the best online holiday promotions. In its first two weeks of operation, more than 500,000 consumers visited the site, according to Mall Networks, the company that powers it. Since then, more than 500 retailers have come together to feature hundreds of promotions that encourage shoppers to point-and-click their way through the holiday shopping season.

The site's new features include:

* An option for shoppers to receive the best offers from retailers via e-mail every Monday.
* RSS feeds that provide up-to-the-minute updates on deals, discounts and promotions.
* Dedicated pages highlighting retailers with free shipping offers, gift cards and a holiday-themed page.
* A home page featuring hot holiday products and category-specific pages for quick shopping.
* Product-search capabilities allowing shoppers to search more than 15 million product SKUs.

In addition to offering these services, Cybermonday.com raises money for a scholarship fund in memory of former Shop.org Vice President Ray Greenly. When shoppers make a purchase through the site, retailers provide a percentage of that sale to Shop.org. To date, more than $100,000 has been raised for the Ray M. Greenly Scholarship Fund, which helps students pursuing careers in e-commerce.

Cybermonday.com was honored in September 2007 with two Standard of Excellence WebAwards from the Web Marketing Association.
