New York—A timepiece owned by Albert Einstein will be on the block at Antiquorum's upcoming fall auction in New York City.

The timepiece is a Longines wristwatch made in 1930 and presented to the iconic scientist the following year in Los Angeles. It is a fine, tonneau-shaped watch in 14-karat yellow gold and will be accompanied by various photos showing Professor Einstein wearing it. The watch is estimated between $25,000 to $35,000.

In addition to the Longines wristwatch, timepieces from important brands such as A. Lange and Sohne, Patek Philippe and Rolex will be included in the sale, a significant amount of which will be offered at no reserve.

Expected to fetch top dollar at the show is a Patek Philippe Ref. 2499 first series made in 1956. The yellow gold wristwatch features a square-button chronograph, 30-minute register, perpetual calendar, moon phases and a special tachometer.

Patek Philippe models take up the next five spots in the auction, with Ref. 3939, movement No. 1, expected to sell somewhere between $250,000 and $300,000. It is a very fine and rare, minute-repeating wristwatch in 18-karat yellow gold with one-minute tourbillon regulator and enamel dial.

Audemars Piguet, Rolex and A. Lange and Sohne timepieces all break into the top 10 lots, with Audemars' "Jules Audemars Tourbillon Repetition," a white gold wristwatch with tourbillon and minute repeater, expected to fetch between $150,000 and $200,000. Rolex's Ref. 6541, Milgauss, a stainless steel wristwatch made in 1958, is estimated between $70,000 and $100,000, and A. Lange's "Datograph Perpetual," a large platinum wristwatch made in 2006, is estimated between $60,000 and $90,000.

The auction will take place on Thursday, Oct. 16 at Antiquorum's U.S. headquarters on Madison Avenue.

Collectors and other watch enthusiasts will be able to preview the timepieces in New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
