New York—Antiquorum's summer sale of "Important Collectors' Wristwatches, Pocket Watches and Clocks" has netted more than $5.4 million in sales, with the top lot, a Patek Philippe timepiece, fetching $640,800.

A record 484 Internet bidders helped to contribute to sales, along with room bidders and phone bidders from all corners of the world, including Germany, Hong Kong and Italy.

Approximately 118 percent of the auction was sold by value and 86 percent sold by lot.

The highlight was a Patek Philippe Ref. 5013 in pink gold with a black dial (lot 401). Patek's Ref. 5020 in pink gold (lot 399), also known as the "TV Watch," sold for $190,400, and the brand's Ref. 3970P with diamond dial (lot 398) netted $166,800.

The FP Journe brand was sought after in the auction, and its "Tourbillon Black Label" in platinum (lot 392) sold for $ 101,900.

Also selling well were pieces sold by Tiffany and Co. and Cartier. Patek Philippe's Ref. T150 in white gold (lot 116), retailed by Tiffany, attained the price of $72,000—double its estimate. And Cartier's "Pendule de Bureau" (lot 206) sold for $46,800—nearly 10 times its estimate.

The Rolex and Vacheron Constantin brands also received strong attention.

"We're still seeing strong prices realized for fine timepieces in the U.S. market," Julien Schaerer, Antiquorum USA auctioneer and watch director, said in a media release. "As such, we are eagerly anticipating our upcoming October auction for which we have several extraordinary timepieces already consigned."
