Fossil appoints banking executive to board

Richardson, Texas—Fossil Inc. has appointed Elaine Agather, chairwoman and chief executive officer of Chase-Dallas, to its board of directors.

Agather's appointment brings the size of the company's board to 10 members, including six independent directors and four members of senior management.

Agather has served in her current position since 1999, and as the South region head and managing director of JP Morgan Private Bank since 2001. Prior to joining JP Morgan, Agather spent seven years as chairwoman of Texas Commerce Bank in Fort Worth, Texas. She began her banking career at Chemical Bank of New York in 1979, working in London, San Francisco and New York before moving to Dallas in 1984.

Agather also serves on numerous community and art advisory councils, including the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts and Bass Performance Hall. She is also a member of the Ethic Advisory Board for the Maguire Center for Ethics and Responsibility.
