Hublot puts solidarity before visibility at EURO 2008

Luxury Swiss watch brand Hublot donated its billboard space at this summer’s UEFA EURO 2008 football tournament in Switzerland and Austria to a pan-European campaign against racism in football, Watch Luxus reported.

Compared to fellow event sponsors UBS and Swisscom, Hublot has small sales turnover. Yet, the donated billboards will bear no mention of the brand’s name, only the message of Unite Against Racism.

Jean-Claude Biver, the owner of Hublot, believes that football is a vehicle for communication and can be used to convey educational values. His Geneva-based watch company is a supporter of various charities including Hand in Hand, which cares for orphans in India, and their own charity Smiling Children Foundation.
