Baselworld 2007 to premiere 'Village,' new decor
February 13, 2007
Basel, Switzerland—The 2007 Baselworld World Watch and Jewellery Show, considered one of the principal shows for the watch and jewelry industry, will feature 2,100 exhibiting companies from 45 countries and is expected to attract more than 90,000 visitors from across the globe. According to organizers, the show offers an ideal environment for buying, selling, networking and discovering the latest trends. "The current boom in the luxury goods business and the favorable prevailing economic climate are important to the success of Baselworld. As a result, our exhibitors' expectations for the coming show will be higher than ever," Baselworld Show Director Sylvie Ritter said in a statement. "At the same time, the show itself will give the industry a dynamic boost." Ritter said specialist dealers have been experiencing good sales and will approach the show with optimism. She also notes that feedback from visitors and exhibitors from the last two shows confirms Baselworld helps to enhance the economic climate. A new feature of the show this year will be the Baselworld Village. Guests will be able to visit this elegant yet informal evening venue, located in the center of Basel, to further expand their networking activities. The Village is composed of two restaurants, two bars and several lounges and outside areas. It will be open every evening from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. during the show. Another new touch this year will be the décor in the Hall of Dreams, which houses international watch brands. In keeping with the push to upgrade the design of exhibit areas, it has been given a contemporary face-lift for the 2007 event. The 2007 Baselworld World Watch and Jewellery Show is scheduled from April 12 to 19. For more information about the show, visit Baselworld.com.
